Can Increased Dose Of Amoxicillin Trihydrate Be Taken For Bursting Recurred Boil In Armpit?
i had boil in armpit last december 19 2013 and it burst after taking amoxicillin trihydrate 500mg on the fourth day. and i didnt continue my medication then. i have another boil now in the same armpit for a week and i started taking the same medicine but twice a day only which started two days ago and seems the boil is increasing in size, i dont even see a head or yellowish opening yet. should i increase the dosage to 3 times a day?
I don't recommend increasing the dose without asking your physician cause Amoxicillin may have some serious side effects when increasing doses than required. Side effects include nausea, vomiting, tiredness, hypersensitivity reactions, blisters, and rarely may cause liver damage so I would be more careful.
Hope the above information helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ahmed Aly Hassan
