Hi Doctor, My Wife is in 7th Month of Prgnancy and while having a Routine checkup it was found that there are 15 -20hpf Pus cells. Doctor got some antibiotic for onr week, then she travelled to Mumbai by Train and after 2 days had a urine test again and its observed that there are 25 -30 Pus Cells, any reason why its increased? and also let me know whether there will be any impact on the baby.
Your wife is having urinary infection no doubt. Once she has undergone a course of antibiotics; however, her urinary infection has either not been cured or has relapsed again.
Now, instead of starting any antibiotics blindly, please get her urine tested for culture and sensitivity. This test will identify the causative bacteria and also will reveal to which antibiotics they are sensitive to. Accordingly, the antibiotics can be chosen to treat her. This is more scientific way of treating urinary infections.
Urinary infections are rather nasty infections. Therefore, please get the post treatment urine examined for few times. Many a times, three or more courses of antibiotics at the interval of one month each are needed to completely eradicate the urinary infection.
I hope you will take the required actions.
