Can History Of Otoscerlosis Cause Hearing Loss In Elderly Age?

I have had otoscerlosis since I was a child since the age of 10. I am presently a medical transcriptionist but have noticed my hearing in my right ear is progressively getting worse. I cannot get a stapedectomy as I need to work and cannot afford the six week postop period to recover. I am now 67 years old and am now beginning to feel clicking in my ear with loss of hearing. What can I do. Would I be able to go on disability for this?

yes, otosclerosis can lead to hardning and stiffening of the chochlear apparatus and the involved joint, causing reduced auditory acuity.
It can cause hearing impairment. The age related changes can further add to the hearing problem.
