Can High-dose Exemestane Intake Cause Lung Issues?

I had Breast Cancer stage 3A. They gave me Letrozole 2.5 MG. I had problems with it. Depression and affected my lungs. I have Bracasties and COPD. I stopped taking it and they have now given me Exemestane 25MG. I have a fear of the same thing happening, plus it is a larger doses. Any advice.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Exemestane is an aromatase inhibitor used for the breast cancers with ERPR positive states. There are side effects as nausea, fatigue, insomnia, flushing, sweating, diarrhea, hair loss, joint or muscle pain as usual side effect protocols.

The respiratory issues are not common side effect concerned. The dosage is as per the FDA guidelines and is not excess.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
