Can Gallbladder Surgery Or Dieting Cause Nausea And Soreness In The Mouth?

I had my Gallbladder removed 5 months ago. Everything was ok till last week. Suddenly I started feeling bitter taste in mouth, severe nausea in morning, vomiting sensation, from last two or three days sores in mouth. I can t eat properly due to nauseated feeling. Always feel light headed, even I have lost 2kgs of weight. Since last month I started having hot water and green tea on empty stomach in the morning, problems started after this. Can this be because of gallbladder surgery or diet problem? I feel depressed most of the times.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is common for many people to have indigestion problems after removal of the gallbladder. It may remain for three to four months. Especially the ability to digest fatty foods is impaired.

I would advise you to avoid taking spicy and greasy food for a few months. You can take an over the counter antacid like tablet Ranitidine for a few weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nazma Amman
