Can Frequent Cough After Undergoing Open Umbilical Hernia Surgery Cause A Recurrence?

I had open umbilical hernia surgery on Monday. I have had a cough on and off all winter. I have been coughing frequently since the surgery and I am worried I am going to cause the hernia to recurr? Not sure what to do as with any cold the cough has been persistent all week.

yes, you can have a recurrence of the hernia. it is better you consult agp or physician & control your cough early. in the meantime pl use a abdominal support like a abdominal belt so as to reduce the strain on the repair.
