Can Eroded Teeth And Continuous Eating Be Due To Bulima?

Her age:25 height: 5 6 I m trying to see if certain symptoms link to bulima. I believe my sister in law is bulimic I have been watching her over the past year and have reason to believe she may be bulimic. I want to talk to a doctor to make sure I could be right before I say anything the symptoms and things I have seen are: Binge eating eroded teeth someone has caught her throwing up after a meal (5years ago) she is always constipated and takes laxatives all the time to try and help it she just recently got out of the hospital because she was so constipated the doctor said she has a weak colon and will not work properly (I have read that if you purge all the time your digestive system forgets how to work properly) She constantly complains about her weight she drinks alcohol and smokes every day she is a complusive lair claims she works out all the time but never does use to be bigger in weight during high school and has always had an issue with it I think I have covered mostly everything I have witnessed I hope you can help thanks!

Psychiatrist 's  Response
yes you have narrated well. Sufficient information to diagnose bulimia. As in these type of patients there is gastric reflux or they may induce self vomiting. So gastric acid comes to mouth and affects the teeth. If this habit persists, teeth get eroded.
Normally bulimia patient are in stress and may be suffering from depression. They do binge eating to relive stress as food gives pleasure effects to mind. Better to take her to psychiatrist and if needed admission also for the treatment depending upon her will and physical situation.
