Normally, a patient does not develop pulmonary embolism after surgery for breast cancer. If this happens, there has to an underlying predisposition to clot formation. Such people are always at risk for subsequent thrombus formation and embolism. Fragmin reduces this risk but does not negate it completely. Multivitamin usage does not increase the risk and can be taken safely.
