General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Middle ear infection can cause deafness. There is risk of hearing loss with improperly managed middle ear infection. All infected children will not have hearing loss.

Middle ear infection is common in children and is commonly treated by antibiotics or anti-fungal medications depending on the organism.

Kindly follow treatment schedule as presrcibed by doctor, keep ear dry and follow doctors advice. There should not be any complications.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.

Thank you,
Dr. Narasimha G L
