Can you have both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism? My biological family has a medical history of thyroid problems so that is the only reason I believe my symptoms may be related to that. My thyroid A month and half ago I began experiencing symptoms where I would wake up 2-4 times a night heavily perspiring and my heart was racing. My doctor put me on 20 mg of Celexa and Xanax at night, but the problems persisted for another three weeks. Now, two weeks later (6 weeks of symptoms), I still wake up, but do not have a racing heart. I cannot regular my temperature (either really hot or really cold), I am extremely weak arm and leg muscles, and I have developed a small tremor which I notice when I am holding something. Any ideas or recommendations on who to see would be so very appreciated.
