Can Autoimmune Disorder Affect The Muscles?

I have severe muscle pain and tightness in back and neck- especially left trapezoid and lower back. The muscles feel like fifty cent peices that are hard. Also have spot at base of neck that swells and is incredibly tender once a month. ANA and CRP were slightly elevated. X-ray showed 10 degree scoliosis and swollen lymph nodes. Had herniated disc with discectomy at L4. Migranes frequently and inappropriate sinus tachycardia. I have a hard time even taking a deep breath from back pain. My heart will jump to 150-180's then will drop to 40-110 for no apparent reason. Have family h/o lupus and MS. Is there an autoimmune disirder that can affect muscles? Can not get a straight answer from anyone I've seen. Please help.

Hi,

I have gone through your query.
As you have mentioned that you have a family history of lupus, and elevated ANA and CRP may confirm Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). But these are elevated in other connective tissue disorders like polymyalgia rheumatic, scleroderma , polymyositis.
These are also autoimmune disorders that can effect muscles and joints. Other symptoms you have mentioned are related to these.
A correct diagnosis should be made after investigations and specific treatment(usually immuno suppressant) can be started by your treating doctor.
