Can Appendectomy Cause Difficulty In Urination?

I had an appendectomy on Sept 1 and since then have had problems urinating. I feel an urge to go but it only trickles out and then I have to go again soon after. I am going to the bathroom very often. Rarely I will go normally, the other times I have to strain to try and get the urine out. Could this be caused by the appendectomy?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. No, it is not related to appendix removal.
2. Possible obstructive cause, partial obstruction could be present.
3. Get a urine examination to rule out urinary tract infection. At present, if difficult, catheterization maybe necessary.
4. Further tests including ultrasound abdomen helpful. Tests results necessary for further opinion.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
