my 19 week scan report says lower end of placenta to internal os 3cms. first of all i would like to know what does os stand for? is this condition something to worry about? what precautions should i take? Also my baby s gestational age is coming 6days behind the date estimated by my last period. how normal or abnormal is this? Plse help me to get clarity for my pregnancy..

Hi,
Os is the term used to describe the opening of the uterus. The placenta is close to the uterine opening. That poses a problem of possible bleeding during the pregnancy. So you need to avoid all kinds of stress and be at rest as much as possible. No intercourse. No bending or heavy lifting. The gestational age is ok. That much difference is nothing to worry about.
