Can Anxiety Cause Hand Numbness And A Sudden Decrease In BP Levels?

I have suffered with vasovagal reactions since I was a kid. Anytime I get a little anxious about something. A few days ago at an eye exam, the doctor mentioned she had to clogged the pores in my eyelids. I immediately started to feel my blood pressure drop. It progressively got worse to the point both hands where numb and immobile. This is the worst episode I ve had. Is there anything I can do aside from lye down until my blood pressure comes back and it passes?

Hello

I read your statement and i understand your concern about vasovagal syncope

You might be aware the the disease is caused by malfunction of that part of the brain that control the heart rate, sweating, respiration and other secretomotor fuction. The trigger do exists in all cases of vasovagal shock or syncope

During the episode of syncope, you can lay down and raise your feet, or you can bend down your head between your knees so that your brain get enough blood.

Apart from that, drugs have not been proved successful except Fludrocortisone, which keeps your BP high

Also, your therapist will tell you ways to decrease your blood pool in legs such as leg exercise, wearing compression stocking

Also, Psychologist will assist you to cope with the triggers.

Thanks
