Can Accutane Be Taken Along With Maxillofacial Surgery In Mouth?

I am currently taking Isotretinoin (accutane), but I m supposed to be having a LeFort I Maxillofacial surgery in a month. No one mentioned that I need to stop taking accutane, but everything I m reading online is suggesting it is dangerous. What are you thoughts about taking accutane and having surgery concurrently?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
Accutane is a vitamin A containing drug commonly used for treating acne. It is basically contraindicated in pregnancy and if you are allergic to to accutane. Other wise you can go ahead with the surgical treatment. But some studies says , accutane might interfere with wound healing. If i am your treating doctor, i would have suggested you to take a opinion from the dermatologist to stop this drug till you get the surgery done and the healing takes place.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
