Can A Person Have Heart Attacks At The Age Of 16 Having A High BPM Of 180?
my son is 16 and was light headed at school. he was rushed to the e.r. and we were told he had a heart attack. he does not do drugs and tested negative for drugs in the e.r. they said his heart beat was very low then jumped up to 180. can teens have heart attacks? he drinks energy drinks but has not been diagnosed with any heart problems before. he was on concerta for adhd for appx. 3 yrs but had not been on any meds for adhd in a year and a half.
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern I would like to say here that of course the 16 years old child can have a heart attack but that would not be the same as usually seen in adult patient, here the heart attack means the heart have stop functioning due to the disease, and the underlying disease need to be taken into consideration, here in your son's case he must be having some congenital cardiac problem, hope this information helps you, take care and have a nice day.
