Can A Heating Pad Be Used To Manage Swelling On The Foot?

had a microdiskectomy on my L5-S1 1 month ago. 5 days after - swelling in R foot & went for an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot. Ultrasound tech confirmed a venous non-compressible thrombosis involving mid-distal posterior tibial DVT. Doctor said using a heating pad on it would be ok. I m not so sure. What do you think?

Hi,

You can apply heating pad for symptomatic relief. Of symptoms are severe you can consider throbolysis using heparin after discussing with your physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
