Can A Head Injury Cause Symptoms Of Neck Pain And Sleepiness?

My 4yr old for the past 4 days has been very sleepy and complaining she is always cold (but feels hot to touch) and had neck pain up until 2 days ago. When I was telling my husband about her just wanting to sleep all the time, he mentioned that 6 days ago she fell off a water slide in the backyard and hit her head. Could she have a concussion? She is normally a very active and healthy child and the last week does not want to leave the couch. Could the feeling cold even though its +26 here, be a sign of head injury?

Hi. I would have two significant concerns for your daughter. Firstly, she sustained a head injury and is now feeling sleepy all the time with neck pain. Secondly, she may be having fevers with neck pain and feeling sleepy. Her symptoms may or may not be related to her head injury. She may also have developed an infection causing her to have these symptoms. I do not wish to cause alarm, however, from what you describe, I would urge you to take your daughter to your nearest Emergency Department as a priority to exclude either a significant head injury or meningitis.
