Can A Double Intake Of Gupisone Within 12 Hours Cause Complications?

I was advised to take gupisone 20 daily for 5days as I suffered from acute breathing difficulty. I had one in night , but I have a doubt whether I was give one in the clinic in morning . Since I went in emergency clinic , I did n t realise what was given . If that was also gupisone . Then I have had gupisone 20 twice in a interval of 12 hours . Will it create any problem now.

Hello,

If that was just one extra dose of 20 mg Gupisone, it should not be any problem. Gupisone is steroid treatment, so technically it is okay to take 20 mg twice a day (total 40 mg a day).

However, when you are using steroid, you do not want to take a different dose on and off daily as needed basis, because of steroid-related complication including withdrawal.

You can just go back to your usual regimen and continue the given prescription to complete it as directed.
