Can A General Practitioner (GP) Address Acute Anxiety/ Panic Attacks?

Hi,
I would like to know what kind of doctor I should see for acute anxiety/panic attacks that I've developed and are getting worse, not horrific just progressing, as i did not have this issue growing up. I do not have a primary care physician and prefer not to see a psychiatrist. can i see a general practitioner for treatment?

Welcome to HCM.
It is better to start proper treatment under guidance of psychiatrist.
Psychiatrist is the best judge for level of your depression, anxiety and proper guidance and medications.
After psychiatrist consultation you can go to primary care physician for follow up advice.(show your prescription of psychiatrist).
