Can Zantac Be Taken While On Methylprednisolone?

Hello. I have been prescribed methylprednilosone for an unknown allergic reaction. I was also given a steroid injection earlier today. I am having some acid reflux and heartburn, normal for me, but wasn’t sure if I could take a Zantac while I’m on this medication? Thank you for you time. Heidi

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Zantac is a brand name of Ranitidine. You can take Ranitidine while you are on Methylprednisolone. They don't interact with each other and doesn't affect the efficacy of each other.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
