Can VB7 And Zinc Tablets Affect My Menstrual Cycle?

Hi doctor,
I am an 18year old girl. I have recently been diagnosed with female pattern hairloss. According to my prescription i have been taking VB7 and Zinc tablets & applying mintop foam 5% regularly, for over a month now. Can any of these affect my menstrual cycle? As they have delayed this month & do these medicines really work?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The management of hair loss depends on the cause of hair loss.
Hair loss can be due to weak hair roots, autoimmune disorders or idiopathic (no cause known).
Hair loss due to autoimmune cause has to be managed by steroids.
Hair loss due to weak hair roots has to be managed by good nutrition especially proteins- cysteine and collagen mainly.
Minoxidil is a topical preparation which controls the hair fall till the time it is used.
After discontinuing the drug, hair fall will begin again.
The nutritional supplements which you are taking can be continued.
These drug preparations do not affect the menstrual cycle.

Thanks and take care
