General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Phenoxymethylpenicillin (penicillin V), is an antibiotic useful for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections, particularly that pertaining to respiratory tract.
Citalopram belongs to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) group of drugs, which is used as an antidepressant. Hence, it is used to treat depression.
There is no major drug interaction reported between the two drugs. So it should be safe to take them together.
Kindly seek medical attention if any untoward symptoms occur.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
Regards,
Dr.Ashakiran.S.
