Can PCOS Causes Problems In Conceiving?

I am a 33yr old woman with boarder line PCOS. i have been trying to concieve for nearly 2yrs now. Myself and hubby have under gone fertility treatment gonal f iui which was unsucessful. All tests were fine sperm and no endimitriosis. we decided to take a break from the treatment last month and since then i have had no period. I have tested numerous times and neg. i was due to go for a xray for back trouble i sometimes get but, before i did i had an ultrasound internally just incase i was pregnant. The ladie doing the ultrasound explained tht my lining was thick , both overies looked fine and she found a intrauterine cystic mass which she said looks very much like early pregnancy. she also states on the report that it measures 4wks and 1day 3.67mm. no fetal pole/yolk seen and no free pelvic fluid seen. I am very confused because surly if i was pregnant i would be testing positive now coz today i would be 5wks and thought tht once a gestational sac was seen hcg should be detectable?
Could i be pregnant but no hcg yet? or could it be something else?
