Can Levofloxacin Cause Red Blotches All Over The Face?

I was prescribed levofloxacin for sinus infection. I have heart arrhythmia for which I take Toprol XL 25mg. I took the levofloxacin and now read the dangers for heart arrhythmia. In the last few hours I have also developed red blotches all over my face.

Hi

Allergy can occur with any drugs and in case of severe rashes ,it is better to switch over to other antibiotics.

Levofloxacin can cause prolonged QT interval which can cause irregular heart rhythm but it may not occur with all the patients. The risk is increased in patients with previous history of heart disease or intake of other drugs causing prolonged QT interval.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
