Can Ketorolac Be Taken For Severe Pain Due To Infected Tooth?

I was prescribed hydrocodine/acetaminophen for an infected tooth. I am very sensitive to pain mess, they make me sick. I have some Ketorolac left over from after having a baby and did fine with it, is it okay to take and will it help with my pain? I was reading that it is to only be used as a continuation after an ivy of some meds?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Ketorolac is a commonly used medication in tooth pain as it can relieve moderate to severe pain caused due to tooth infection and other pain conditions..
In case if you have a severe pain that is not being relieved with other medication you can take Ketorolac as it is potent to relieve severe pain..
Other thing that I would like to tell you is that in case if you have infection in tooth you can get temporary treatment with painkillers and you need to consult a Dentist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and an IOPAR [x ray] can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case if tooth can be saved Root Canal treatment followed by antibiotics and painkillers will help..
In case if tooth cannot be saved extraction is advisable.

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
