Can I Use Naproxen For Buttocks Pain When Having Medication For High BP?

I am having some pain in the right side of the buttock, going down the leg. No tingling right now, but it has tingled clear down to my foot. Not sure if it is sciatica or pulled muscle......I am 78 years old, take an 83mg aspirin at night. I have high blood pressure and use meds tocontrol it. My question is....can I safely use naproxen?

Hi,
Naproxen is an NSAID(non steroidal anti inflammatory drug). All NSAIDs should be used with caution especially in the elderly. It is particularly contraindicated in patients with deranged renal functions, heart failure, cirrhosis, or peptic ulcer disease. Naproxen might itself cause hypertension and has interactions with other anti hypertensives like beta blockers or ACE inhibitors.
