Can I Go Further With Hernia Operation Though I Have Cough With Phlegm ?

I am due to have a hernia repair operation on wednesday but I have a cough that is bringing up occasional flem can i still go ahead with the surgery?

it is always dictum to have no cough prior to heria operation
please get treatment for the cough and once it is controlled go for surgery
