Can I Go For Tonsillectomy With Enlarged Lymph Nodes In Neck And Canker Sore In Mouth?
my son is 4, enlarged lymph nodes in neck, canker sore in mouth and scheduled to have tonsillectomy and adnoids removed due to severe enlargement. cbc was reported as good, im just concerned that it might be something more than just what they are seeing
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that enlarged lymph nodes and canker sores in mouth are due to throat infection and tonsillitis only and in case if you get the tonsillectomy done with the persisting condition then there is a possibility that due to post surgical inflammation the canker sores become more aggressive and painful while lymph nodes can also get inflamed.. You should consult your treating physician and get evaluated and he can advise your son vitamin supplements and oral hygiene instructions for resolution of the sores.. Do alternate cool and warm compresses over the lymph nodes.. Once the canker sores heal you can proceed for the surgery..
Hope this information helps..
