Can Hyoscyamine Be Taken For Possible IBS While Having CKD, GERD And Hiatal Hernia?

I have been prescribed Hyoscyamine for possible IBS. I was just reading about it and not sure I should take it. I have CKD, just finished a work up with cardiologist for tachycardio, and the patient fact says it causes this. I have GERD and hiatal hernia. I m older and probably already don t have enough acid and it says this reduces it. Is there a better option for me?

Please, it is a safe medication to take with your health conditions. It has minimal effects on acid production and we don't really need excess amount of acids to function. With you having GERD and hiatal hernia, reducing or neutralizing your acid productions should be the goal of your treatment. This would help do so though being prescribed for an entirely different disease condition. Feel confident to go ahead and use this drug as it presents no danger to your health.
