I am 35 years old and have a severely herniated disk at L5-S1 and other more mild herniations. The doctor is amazed I haven t lost any muscle control in my legs. I also have arthritis in my Sacrum and degenerative disk disease. I am in pain all the time. My back doctor recommended a steroid epidural. I wasn t able to schedule one for almost two months (though I might try a different dr.). However, yesterday I found out that I am pregnant. I am about 5 weeks along. I am worried about the pain increasing as my hormones change and I gain wait. It s barely tollerable now. Would it be safe to have the epidural while pregnant? If so would it be better to have it earlier or later in the pregnancy?
HI Well come to HCM As I always advise that no medicine is safe in pregnancy unless question of baby and mother matters is there, till then all the medicine should be avoided, in your case too, once you came to know that you are pregnant then do not take any medicine and better inform the doctor too, take care have a nice day.
