Can Carisoprodol Be Taken In Place Of Cyclobenzaprine?

Torn rotator cuff, doctor prescribed cyclobenzaprine 10mg tablet. I have two pills of carisoprodol 350 mg tab from a 2009 back surgery. Can I use them up and continue with the new prescription? Is the huge mg difference due to weaker medication? I am 60, non-smoker, non-drinker - injury was due to head first dive with arm extended in a skiing accident.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Cyclobenzaprine will be the best option as it has got lesser side effects and preferred for a longer duration.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
