Does Cyclobenzaprine Interact With Diazepam And Oxycodone?

I pulled a muscle in my back Friday. My doctor said that I could take 10 mg of Cyclobenzaprine three times daily. This did not help, so I went into the ER. They injected me with something that worked very well. They discharged me with prescriptions for 10-325 Oxycodone / Acet. and 5 mg Diazepam. I have been taking these in lieu of the Cyclobenzaprine. They do little to ease the pain, and I am not a big fan of being on Oxycodone. Should I be taking Cyclobenzaprine with these, or could I substitute the Cyclobenzaprine for the Oxy?

Hi,

Cyclobenzaprine is used as a muscle relaxant. Similarly, Diazepam also works as a muscle relaxant while Oxycodone os opioid to help the pain.

So I would suggest you should use either of Diazepam or Cyclobenzaprine as a muscle relaxant ( not both ) along with Oxycodone for the pain as needed.

Oxycodone should be used for pain as needed and if you don't like it you may also use ibuprofen instead of it I.

You may also be helped a lot by heat pads and massage.
