Carafate is usually prescribed to treat peptic ulcer (break in the lining epithelium of stomach) as it is found to be effective in coating the ulcer bed and forming a protective barrier to acid and pepsin. Aciphex is used in the treatment of acidity related stomach problems. As such there is no drug-drug interaction seen with the above mentioned drugs, however you are advised to take Aciphex at least one hr before the meals. Cholestyramine is known to cause bloating sensation and constipation. kindly consult your doctor for possible adjustment of the dose of Cholestyramine or to increase dietary fiber in your food.
