Burning Sensation In Left Breast, Burning Sensation When Touched. Underlying Cause?

I recently, on three different occasions in the past four days, experienced a burning sensation on my left breast. I woke in the night with it and thought I was dreaming then when I removed my bra to go to bed that night I noticed it again and then again in the night. It is the entire nipple area and underneath and it burns to the touch like fire. what could it be?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Burning sensation in the areolar region can be brought about by hormonal changes. I would have liked to know your age and if you were on any contraceptives/birth control and your medical history as well. Either way, please do visit your doctor who will ask you for a whole lot of information and then conduct a few investigations to find the exact cause.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
