Burning Sensation In Eyes, Redness And Itchy. Is It An Allergy?

My eyes are burning and the skin around my eyes is red and itchy. While I was away from my home for two weeks this condition cleared up so I think I have an allergy, but to what? We have a cat, a carpet in the living room and our bedroom. I am a very good housekeeper to there is very little dust. I do use the computer and love to read. The condition of my eyes makes either of those activities impossible.

hello,
as you rightly mentioned you have allergy conjunctivitis.
most commmon etiology are dust, hot climate, sun exposure, or smoke
but you can have allery from any thing, may be pet animal of yours, or whether you live.
you can better protect your skin with suns screen, black googles while going out.
start taking antihistaminics for allergy and if eyes have itching then olopatidine eye drop also.
better to see which thing cause you allergy more and avoid that.
also do washing eyes with free flowing clkean water 4-5 times a dat and eye fomentation with an ice is better
take care
