Bruise in the thigh, icing hasn't helped. Possible staph infection ?

I have a football player that thought he had a bone bruise in hos thigh we ve tried he we ve tried ice and nothing has helped someone had mentioned a possible staff infection there s no open sore anything on the thigh but if you were flipping or you know barely tap it you he d down in pain it s hard to you know like to jump stop and basketball

The swelling in the thigh if it is associated with pain and redness can be suggestive of an infection in the area of hematoma. A direct examination is needed to detect the infection and further treatment.
