Broken Scaphoid Bone In Waist And Wrist, Dislocation And Angulation. Done CT Scan. How Long Should I Wear The Splint Cast?
Hello,
I broke my scaphoid bone ( mid waist ) left wrist, after a fall from a bicycle. A ct-scan showed 2 mm dislocation and slight angulation. No other wrist injuries. It was decided to do a screw fixation ( 10 days post fracture ). According to the surgery report the screw resulted in a firm compression and nice alignment of the fracture ends.
afterwards, now ten days, perfect healing of the very small surgical wound, no selling and hardly any pain at moving the wrist in several dirctions
Question: how long have do i need wearing the splint- cast

Hi,
The time you will need in the splint will vary depending on how well the fracture is healing. I expect you will have an appointment soon for an X-ray to assess progress. This will provide the information on the healing. There is a possibility that you may be in the splint for up to six weeks but it is difficult to be certain at this stage.
