What Does The Following CT Scan Report Suggest?

Hi, I am erlinda, 65 years old. Last March 8, I tried to reach something at the back of the washing machine.I heard like something broke in left part of my ribs, under the breast. The ortho doctor asked me to have a ct scan. The result/impression: 1) Consider granulomas, right apex; 2) Degenerative osseous changes; 3) Thyromegaly with parenchymal disease, 4) No evident fracture or dislocation seen. Can you please help me on the meaning of these. Thank you very much.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The Ct report indicates nothing specific pertaining to the mode of injury or pain.

There is a granuloma, the right apex of lung indicative of previous upper lobe infection or else.

Degenerative changes are secondary to age-related issues.

Thyromegaly needs doppler ultrasound of neck with thyroid function tests to establish the activity level of thyroid and further medications.

No evidence of fracture means, there is no breach in the continuity of the bone linings.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
