Broken Ribs, Bruise On The Lower Back After A Fall. The Color Changed At The Bruised Area. Is This Normal?

Husband fell off roof onto ladder. In addition to broken ribs, etc. he has a very lg bruise horizontal across lower back. Right in center of bruised area is a white circular area with no color! Area is approx 5-6 inches round. Again, area around is black and blue. This is almost perfect circle dead center with no color!

Hi,
When your husband fell onto the ladder, he will have suffered impact over a wide area and by the nature of the ladder, this will have been uneven. Therefore, do not worry about this appearance. However, the bruising may take sometime to disappear and may change color as it resolves.
I hope your husband feels better soon.
Regards,
Dr K A Pottinger,
