Hello,
How good of you to notice the odor and the blood - well observed.
you are absolutely correct in feeling worried. You should accompany her and go and see her doctor as soon as possible. She will be scared that the cancer has come back and this has to be checked. I`m sure she knows that - but there is no point in waiting - things can only get worse. It imght just be an infect of some sort but that sounds unlikely as her operation was a few years ago. Best thing is to have a professional as soon as you can.
All the best,
kind regards,
JR
