Blisters On Foot, Swelling After Bee Sting. Applied Ice. Remedy?

I got a bee sting on my big toe on Sunday. My girlfriend removed the stinger, then I washed it & went back out for yard work (wearing sandals). The sting was fine all the rest of the day, itched some that night. I woke up Monday & there was no swelling & my toe was a little red & irritated. I put on my work boots & went to work. The itching & burning got worse and worse as the day went on. When I removed my boots when I got home yesterday there were several very large blisters & my entire foot was swollen! We lanced and drained the blisters, and cleaned the area & continued that all last night and today. I have been icing it and the swelling has not gone down. In fact it is now past my ankle. What do I need to remedy this so I can get back to work?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that due to poisonous sting bite there is bacterial infection took place giving rise to swelling and cellulitis.
Go for one antibiotic medicine course after consulting your doctor.
Take antihistamine like Cetrizine, Levo-cetrizine or Benadryl tablet for 2-3 days.
Apply antibiotic cream locally.
Ok and take care.

The venom from the bite has taken some time to spread and is causing a acute flare up.it would be best to elevate the foot, rest, use ice ,antihistaminic drugs like Chlorpheniramine and analgesics. You may need antibiotics if there is secondary infection in the arera.Steroids may be used if there is no infection on the advice of your doctor.
