Can A Bee Sting Cause Shingles?

Can a bee sting trigger shingles? I was stung over 24 hours ago. It felt normal (as normal as a bee sting feels) today, it is very red swollen but surrounded by many little red patches of small bumps and it hurts to the touch and say on the inside. Very painful. BTW this was from a honey bee sting. Thanks Linda

Hi Linda. No, bee stings don't turn into shingles and your description fits more with a significant local reaction to the sting itself. Benadryl and topical Caladtyl lotion should help with this.
