Bleeding While Doing Suction With Tongue. Previously Had Abcess After Tooth Extraction. Treatment?

Hi, I possibly have broken capillary in roof of my mouth. When I suction with my tongue it bleeds like crazy. If I do not suction with my tongue or irritate it area it does not bleed. Is there a certain medication I can take to help it heal? About 3-4 months ago I did have one tooth extracted which was given me serious problems. The ex-ray did show an abscess, and unfortunately I was not given any antibiotic for the abscess. Will you please tell me what could possibly be going on? Is there a certain medication I can take for this problem?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM forum
You have not mention any color changes, any lump, painful or not, duration of its presence in your palate. As per my opinion, profuse bleeding from palate when irritated is neither related to any gum disease nor any tooth problem.

X-ray of which tooth has shown abscess? If its that extracted one then thorough radiographical examination is required to rule out whether the remnants of tooth is left . If its other tooth thenroot canal treatment will be suggested.
So you better consult a dentist for immediate clinical examination of palate, till then avoid suction with your tongue.
Wishing you a cure soon
Take care

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

The bleeding from the roof of the mouth could be due to various reason. There could be an abscess developed there or due to deep dental caries or could be a sinus draining there.

please take a x ray and get it examined thoroughly.

upon evaluation, you can start with antibiotics and analgesics. It is only when the underlying cause is well diagnosed and treated then the bleeding will stop completely.

please visit your oral surgeon soon in this regard.

Avoid hard, hot and spicy food consumption till you see your oral surgeon.

Thanks.

Take care.
