Bleeding Throughout Pregnancy

Hi, I am 13 weeks pregnant but I have had three bleeds, the first at about 8 weeks, the next at about 10 weeks and another yesterday. The bleeding doesn t last that long but it is frightening and the last two times I have also passed clots and the bleeding stops after that. I have gotten a scan each time everything has been ok with the baby but there hasn t been any reason found as to why I get these bleeds. It is especially frightening as I had a miscarriage last September at 17 weeks but I am supposed to get an internal scan Monday to check my cervix as that is what they think was the cause of the miscarriage. I really hope someone can help me. Thanks, Aileen.

Hi.. It is common to have small amounts of bleeding during the early weeks of pregnancy.. Since the scans are normal till date, the pregnancy is normal till now.. Further bleeding can be avoided with good bed rest, avoiding exertions and strenous physical activity.. Bleeding can be normal upto the first 3 months of pregnancy.. Any bleeding after that can mean be a dangerous sign.. Hence follow good rest and advice of the doctors strictly..
