Black Tongue, Bad Taste, Dry Mouth. Diagnosed As Fungal Infection Of The Mouth. Prescribed Medicines. What Could Be The Cause?

My doctor said I have a fungal infection of the mouth as my tongue gets black,I have a bad taste in my mouth and
dry mouth. I am taking and finishing today a Nystatin Suspension for this. I am wondering what might have caused
this problem as I hopefully don't want to get it again. I have read that old is one factor and I am old,93 but in
general I am quite healthy. E-mail is maryjfulop @ WWW.WWWW.WW Thanks for anything you might know as to the cause
of my problem.

Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Following are predisposing factors for oral fungal infection
1. Bad oral hygeine
2. Dry oral mucosa due to decreased intake of fluids.
3 . Immunosuppression- Diabetes Mellitus
4. Ill fitting dentures

if the above things are properly addressed your symptoms are less likely to recurr

I hope it helped

In case you require any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take care
