Big And Severely Itchy Scars On The Body Due To Chicken Pox. No Improvement From Lacto Calamine. Help

Hello Doc!
I'm Sneha Chakrawarty from India. I had chicken-pox in the month of dec-jan '12-'13. They were big and severely itchy. It took 2 weeks to recover. But, for 3months i have been struggling to remove the scars that are left over on my body. I apply "Lacto-Calamine"-a product that has Clay, Glycerine & Zinc Oxide...But still my scars aren't showing any signs of fading!!
Please Help Me!

Hi sneha ,Thanks for writing to health care magic.Chicken pox always leads to scarring when it occurs at later age.But as time passes it will fade.Start using a good sunscreen and take oral antioxidants .You can apply a cream containing kojic acid and vitamin c like carofit ultra at night.Continue this for 2 to 3 months.Apply mild steroid like desowen at day time for 2 weeks only. Most of scarring will fade .Those still persistent can be treated by chemical peeling. You can consult a dermatologist for it.Take care.
