It seems to have begun with IBS last winter then sinus/migraine headaches began and continued in spring. (Treated with 2 z-pacs, then Augmentin, followed by Omnicef. Then they stopped the Omnicef and began Levaquin, so antibiotics from May-Sept.) Dizzines and head pressure I attributed to my Meneire's / endolymphatic shunt 2009, seemed to suddenly increase, even occasionally feeling like I was going to pass out. I slipped and fell (coincidentally the first day of Levaquin regimen) the first rainy day of school (no big deal, I thought), but neck pain began several days later, followed by intense knee (opposite side of fall) throbbing awakening me in the middle of the night. And a couple days later, stabbing pain in ankle awoke me another night. Then pain started moving all around my body, neck, back, knee, wrists, thumbs ankles, feet. Frequently could hardly stand and/or sit at school. Very fatiqued, confused/brain fog. My previously scheduled CT scan for sinuses was based on continual sinus headaches/shunt concerns. Results pretty much normal, slight problems, but nothing serious. My ENT mentioned at that point that the Levaquin could be the culprit. I followed up with my Endocrinologist since I have hypothyroidism (100 mg.6X wkly) and is most familiar with my history. He agrees that Levaquin could be the problem. Also, he is sending me to neurologist for Involuntary Nerve Response Testing. I'm out of school for two weeks. Just when I have a little better day and I'm encouraged that I may be on the upswing, then I have a horrible day and can hardly get around. What do you think? How long could these "side effects" last?
