Armpit Lump In My 9-month Old Granddaughter

My 9-month old granddaughter has a lump in her armpit that is black through the skin. They did an ultrasound, and we are scared while waiting for the results. What should we expect?

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Thanks for your query

A lump in the armpit should usually be a benign condition and could be a cyst, a lymph node, or else, if it is blackish, a hemangioma for which a surgery may be required. Your doctors can immediately give ultrasound report and either decide for a further plan like biopsy or excision or plan for further investigations.
Take care
