Are Wheezing And Pain At The Base Of Neck A Symptom Of Thyroid Nodule?
Wheezing when I exhale sometimes. Sometimes it s a snoring sound when I exhale. Both times I have a pressure feeling in throat and base of skull with shortness of breath. I am scheduled for Ultra Sound due to lesions in Thyroid seen on MRI. Could that be causing this or something else?
Regarding your concern i can say that thyroid nodules may be the cause of snoring and wheezing.
If you haven' t put on wheight lately, propably the thyroid nodules press the breathing airways and cause these symptoms.
It happens in big nodules and in nodules localized at the inferior part of the lobe of the gland that have a tendency to grow under the sternum, as a result they press the trachea.
The ultrasound will give information regarding to the dimensions and the localization of them. Hope my information regarding to your query was clear.
Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
